Policy statement
Elderholme is committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking but recognises that Modern slavery and human trafficking can take place in a wide range of employment sectors, including health and social care. People using or working in a health and social care services may be victims of modern slavery or human trafficking. We as any other Health and social care organisation have a role in identifying victims who come to them for care or treatment.

Our recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion.
We confirm the identities of all our new employees and their right to work in the UK. We also pay all our employees the National Living Wage or above.
We do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
We have in place:
- Due diligence checks to identify and assess potential risk areas such as agency staffing.
- The monitoring of potential risks in our supply chains by checking our supplier’s commitment to modern slavery prevention.
- A robust recruitment and selection process to mitigate the risks of modern slavery entering our workforce.
- Modern Slavery policy, distributed to all existing staff.
- Modern Slavery awareness is included in the inductionand staff are informed of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking.
