About Elderholme
Elderholme Nursing Home was started in 1986 in response to an increasing need for care and nursing facilities in the Wirral, particularly those reliant on local authority funding. The main aim of the charity was, and still is, to provide high quality professional nursing care within a home-like environment. We continually strive to maintain a balance of creating a homely, family atmosphere with upholding a high level of nursing and medical care for all our residents.
Initially funded by the local health authority, the charity purchased the land and building in 1996, giving directors and trustees the freedom to operate as an independent non-profit charity, allowing them to invest fully in enhancing facilities and increased staff training.
Since then, we continue to build on our reputation for providing affordable high quality nursing care within a caring, compassionate environment, for local authority funded and privately funded residents.
Our key focus is to ensure that not only are our residents’ care needs fully met, but also their wellbeing as individuals within our home.
We maintain high staffing levels to provide a professional, caring service in a calm, friendly atmosphere.
As an independent, non-profit, charity-run nursing home we are able to commit to ongoing investment in enhanced services, facilities and staff development, making us one of the most well regarded nursing homes in the West Cheshire and Merseyside region.

How long have you worked for Elderholme?
I have been working in Elderholme since June 2023.
Best thing about your job?
I have a good professional relationship with the residents. Caring for them makes me feel valued. I enjoy
communicating and doing any cares for them.
What is the best thing about working for Elderholme?
We have a good team in here. Everyone is so kind and helps and supports each other. Whenever needed everyone is happy to help.
If you could live a day as anyone at Elderholme who would you choose and why?
Difficult question 😅. Well I will continue to be myself as I am confident about me.
What’s your hidden talent (your superpower)?
Gardening and decorating are my favourite things that I do whenever I get free time.
How do you spend your free time?
I like shopping and buy things for my garden. That’s the main thing I do. Spent time with family and friends.
In May 2024 Binto received a collection from staff for his birthday and he decided to donate it to our residents activities fund. This kind gesture was truly appreciated by management and Binto received thanks from the Chairman of the Board.

I like the challenge my role offers me. There are plenty of opportunities for training and you are listened too and respected as an employee. I enjoy looking after new residents and understanding their individual complexities.
What is the best thing about working for Elderholme?
There are opportunities for development and plenty of training.
How do you spend your free time?
I like to travel, I have many cats and I love Lego.
