Elderholme’s policy on “Therapeutic Activities” takes into account the resident’s interests, skills, experiences, personalities and medical condition. The home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage mobility and most importantly take an interest in life.
Staff encourage and, in certain instances, help residents to pursue their hobbies and interests.
We have our own mini-bus and we utilise volunteers from the community to help with activities and outings.
Some examples of activities and outings:
- Visits to local Pub
- Visits to Garden Centres
- Visits to local beauty spots
- Annual Summer Fare
- Visiting entertainers
- Crafts and quizzes
- Book club
- Nail painting and hand massage
- Pastimes and remembrance
- Carpet bowls
- Board games
- Animal visits to the home
- One to one activities such as assistance with letter writing
